The toxic gas has spread to another town-- this time the zombie characteristics are brought more to the forefront- with talking zombies and wearing various costumes (even a Thriller one). The main actors from the first movie are back in different parts- but essentially end up rehashing their previous character arc. Their chase across the town just leads to a few more zombie kills and brains are squished.

Unfortunately much of the cool punk vibe is gone from this one and replaced with an annoying kid. There's something a bit more edgy about the first installment- especially with the raw turmoil of the zombies overrunning the city. The effects are decent with a bigger budget, but somewhere the goofy humor of it takes away any menace from the zombies.
